eSpring Water Treatment System - Technology Part 3 - Electronic Monoitoring

Combination of Carbon Filter, Ultraviolet and electronic monitoring technology

Electronic Monoitoring

With the electronic monitoring system, you never have to worry about changing filters too soon or too late, and the system is so advanced, it automatically “reads” the life of any cartridge inserted, whether that cartridge is new, half-used, or completed use. This eliminates the guesswork when it comes to determining the life of the cartridge. Again, it will also alert you if there is any problem.

For the electronic monitoring system to track accurately, the power supply to the eSpring unit must be turned on at all times. It consumes very little electricity when it is on stand by mode.

Normal operation
When the system is filtering the water, you can see the water drops moving.

Cartridge left with 10% life
You will hear a beep when you first turn to treated water setting. This indicates that the cartridge is left with 10% life and is due for replacement.

Cartridge due for replacement
You will see the filter icon flashing blue and "Replace Cartridge" is red, When you're in treated water setting, you will hear a beeping sound every 2 seconds.

eSpring Water Treatment System - Technology Part 2 - Ultraviolet Light Technology

Combination of Carbon Filter, Ultraviolet and electronic monitoring technology

Ultraviolet Light Technology

Back in 1919, UV technology is recognised as an effective way to treat water without adding chemicals. Ultraviolet (UV) light technology takes the eSpring™ Water Treatment System to the next level in in-home water purifiers by doing what carbon alone cannot do: it destroys microorganisms.

How it works

The eSpring Water Treatment System’s UV lamp, located in the centre of the cartridge, delivers up to 80 millijoules/cm² (units of measure) of UV light – enough to destroy more than 99.99% of
bacteria and viruses that may be found in drinking water.

Water always flows cool

The tap water being diverted to the unit will activate a sensor to turn on the lamp instantly and automatically. Because the lamp is not on all the time, it does not waste energy or heat up the standing water; water always flows cool or at tap temperature. Isolating the UV lamp from the power source also provides greater safety and reliability.

System is durable

Eliminating hard-wired electrical connections between the unit and the cartridge makes replacing the cartridge simple and protects the system, making it more durable.

eSpring Water Treatment System - Technology Part 1 - Carbon Filter

Combination of Carbon Filter, Ultraviolet and electronic monitoring technology

Carbon Filter

Inside the eSpring Water Treatment System is an activated pressed carbon block filter. This patented multi-stage carbon block effectively removes:

  • Chlorine taste and odour
  • Particulates, thus improving clarity
  • More than 140 possible health-effect contaminants, including lead, mercury, VOCs, disinfection by-products like THMs, and the petrol additive MTBE.

 How it works
  • Carbon filtration has long been the technology of choice for home water treatment systems, but our patented eSpring carbon filter does much more.
  • Most health-related contaminants (pesticides and their by-products, VOCs and THMs) contain carbon molecules, and carbon molecules tend to bond together. So contaminants in tap water will tend to bond with the carbon block filter.
  •
 Activation increases the carbon surface

We "activate" the carbon through a special heat process that creates thousands of pores. This increases the surface area available to attract contaminants. The carbon is then pressed together to create a fixed carbon block. This increased surface area increases the ability of our filter to attract and "trap" carbon-based contaminants as water passes through the carbon block. Various other organic contaminants also tend to adhere to the porous surface, so the carbon-block filter acts as a magnet for contaminants. No other in-home system reduces more possible health-effect contaminants than eSpring.

To increase the sediment removal surface by four times more, a polypropylene prefilter is added to the system. No additional space is required to accommodate the prefilter as it comes with the UV-carbon cartridge. It is used to remove particles down to 1 micron size.

Our patented carbon block filter:
  • traps particulates 300% smaller than the diameter of a human hair.
  • will treat up to 5,000 litres (1,320 gallons) of water or up to one year, whichever comes first.
  • uses patented technology unique to eSpring.

Good nutrients pass through

While most health-effect contaminants are carbon based, many beneficial minerals like calcium, magnesium and tooth-decay-fighting fluoride are not. That means they do not form a bond with the carbon filter; they simply pass through it and remain in the water.

8 Reasons to Choose eSpring

Why eSpring?
8 Reasons to Choose eSpring

CLEANER, CLEARER, BETTER TASTING WATER
The most obvious benefit of the eSpring Water Treatment System is the dramatic improvement in water taste, odour and clarity. It’s something customers immediately notice, understand, and appreciate.

HEALTHIER, BETTER QUALITY WATER IS BACTERIA & VIRUS-FREE
Many systems improve the way water looks and tastes. But very few also reduce potentially harmful contaminants, and even fewer effectively eliminate waterborne bacteria and viruses. The eSpring Water Treatment System does both. It effectively removes more than 140 different contaminants — and destroys more than 99.99% of waterborne bacteria and viruses.

TESTED AND CERTIFIED BY NSF
NSF International is a non-profit organisation recognised worldwide as the leading independent testing and certification authority on water treatment systems. NSF International has tested and certified the eSpring Water Treatment System for the reduction of more health-effect contaminants than any other UV/carbon-based system it has certified.

UNIQUE, ADVANCED AND LEADING TECHNOLOGY
The eSpring Water Treatment System is the first system to combine the best water treatment technologies available: carbon block filter, UV light, and electronic monitoring. The UV-Carbon Cartridge reduces particulates and more than 140 contaminants; UV light destroys more than 99.99% of waterborne microorganisms, and the electric monitoring system lets users know when it’s time for replacements. It is the combination of these technologies that makes the eSpring so unique.

BACKED BY OVER 20 YEARS OF RESEARCH WITH OVER 338 PATENTS ISSUED
OR PENDING AND WELL-RECEIVED IN 36 COUNTRIES
The eSpring Water Treatment System is the result of 20 years of research in water treatment technology. It was designed and developed by eSpring engineers and scientists. It also has more than 338 water treatment patents worldwide, granted or pending. Since the launch of eSpring, the system has been well-received in more than 36 countries worldwide.

USER FRIENDLY AND EASY TO INSTALL
Unlike bottled water or jug-type filters, the eSpring Water Treatment System can provide all the daily drinking and cooking needs an average family requires — on demand, directly from the tap. The more compact and contemporary design of eSpring also takes up less space for greater convenience and flexibility. And, there’s no special tools needed to install eSpring.

EASY MAINTENANCE AND GREATER PEACE OF MIND
Some filters and treatment systems require filter changes every month, if not more frequently. However, the eSpring Water Treatment System can provide 5,000 litres or one year of water, whichever comes first, before the UV-carbon cartridge needs to be replaced.

GREAT QUALITY AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
Although the eSpring Water Treatment System provides superior performance and convenience, its cost of treatment is actually less than many other systems.
